One Small Step In The Right Direction
Want to change your life for the better? Feeling fed up, tired and out of shape? In this episode of The Interesting Health & Safety Podcast, Colin shares how he worked his way out of his lowest point in life and gives key pointers on how you can also work to change and improve your lifestyle by making simple changes to daily routine. Going from 19st 3lbs, drinking heavily and eating a lot of junk food, Colin now lives each day in the habit of working out daily, eating healthy and is over a stone lighter.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Realisation. You need to wake up and realise that the way are you are living your lifestyle is not healthy for you and you need to say to yourself, this needs to stop.
When it comes to changing to a healthier lifestyle, this doesn’t mean you need to stop seeing your friends or completely stop eating unhealthy food, you should still treat yourself in moderation and you shouldn’t beat yourself up about it.
Put systems in place to make the small changes to your diet, such as planning your meals for the week, doing the weekly shop on one day and sticking to a set menu will help you to get into the routine of eating healthier food.
Exercise. You may not be the type to go to a local gym or join a sports team, but that shouldn’t stop you from caring about your health. Colin lays out his simple, yet super effective morning routine which you can do absolutely anywhere, even in the comfort of your own home.
