Desire is a powerful driver that gets us moving in a certain direction. And we often attach an end goal to it to pursue. Therefore, it is understandable that desire can lead us to frustration, disappointment, or disempowerment if the goal was not reached or was anti-climactic. Desire is often misunderstood as true love and can point us to coping mechanisms that attempt to fill unmet needs. It can be a powerful practice to take an honest look at what we are desiring and what it is that we truly deeply want.
