The Esplanade development project planned for the North Side is inching closer to fruition, but it could be 10 years before the multi-phase plan — including everything from a Ferris wheel to a marina — takes its final form in Chateau. Turning a partially empty space into a busy, beautiful waterfront site is exciting for many, but it also raises questions about whether existing neighbors can grow in tandem with its success. We’re bringing back a conversation with PublicSource’s Rich Lord and Eric Jankiewicz to talk about its history and all the hurdles it still has to go.
