Nike’s one of the largest local employers and has turned our area into the sneaker capital of the world. But the company has been having a rough time recently: Their shoes have been losing market share, the company is facing discrimination lawsuits from ex-employees, and late last year they announced a restructuring that could slash more than a thousand jobs. Today we’re talking with Oregonian business reporter Matthew Kish about what Nike’s challenges mean for Portland.
