On the Wednesday version of The College Football Playoff Show, Doug Lesmerises and Shehan Jeyarajah had a plan to compare and contrast Oklahoma and Ohio State heading into a big month for both.
Then the playoff committee on Tuesday night ranked Michigan ahead of Michigan State despite the Spartans beating the Wolverines two weeks ago.
That fired them up.
They discussed when and why the committee overrides head-to-head matchups and when it adheres to them; how metrics are influencing the voting; and what might happen during cookie breaks.
There's still a lot of Ohio State-Oklahoma talk, plus either Ole Miss or Wake Forest is kicked out of the rankings.
