The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - work around the fires and the power outages to get you the latest news from around Montlake, including all the comings and goings in the NFL when talking about all the former Huskies playing pro ball.
They dig into all the players who were let go by NFL teams Friday and Saturday as the 53-man roster cut line took place this past weekend. And with 16-man practice squads now an NFL feature, eight of the 10 former Dawgs waived found themselves back on practice squads as of Tuesday morning. Veteran defensive back Sidney Jones was the latest one to be added, as he moved from Philadelphia to Jacksonville.
There was also the news that the three juniors that decided to forego their final years of eligibility at UW to turn pro - Hunter Bryant (Detroit), Jacob Eason (Indianapolis), and Salvon Ahmed (Miami) all found homes in the NFL, justifying their decisions.
Moving back closer to home, the guys talk about Washington's latest verbal commitment - 2022 TE Chance Bogan. Bogan is a UW legacy, as his father Curtis played at Washington. With two years to go before the coaches get to use Bogan, there's plenty of speculation as to how he'll be used.
Scott also provides an update on how the Huskies will finish up their 2021 recruiting now that DB Vincent Nunley has made his decision to become a Dawg. How many more players will UW take? How much room do they have left?
