While Lindsey is on vacation doing…Lindsey things…Kirk decides to have his old friend Carlos Perez (from the Peruvian episode) over to school Kirk on the art of making homemade sourdough bread. Full transparency: Carlos tried to teach Kirk the fine art of sourdough bread-making months ago, even going so far as to give him some of his precious mother dough, but Kirk f’ed it up so bad that he had to throw it away (which is an actual crime in the eyes of many). But this time Carlos is here to right the ship, and they not only actually make sourdough bread on the episode, they talk about the process, offer tips and hacks, do’s and don’ts, debate what should and shouldn’t go on a slice of sourdough bread, the proper way to cut it, and, of course, just go completely HAM on a freshly baked loaf.
