Most little girls don’t grow up dreaming, “I’m going to be a CEO.” Especially when they get married at age 17 and start a family right away. Yet Christine Shaw followed an untraditional path and earned the impressive role of CEO at Investment News after a long career in the financial industry. She handles the company’s strategy, daily operations, products and people. And she has worked in global media overseeing all aspects of multimedia, from print to digital and using research and data.
In our conversation, Christine shares her success story and helps all of us understand how specific tools can help us be accountable to big visions and little girl dreams. We spoke about:
● Overcoming obstacles.
● Setting forth a path to create opportunity.
● Using a coaching tool–the Circle of Life.
● Using a “vision” job statement.
● The importance of learning how tech can work for you.
Christine also serves on the board of directors at Invest in Others, a charitable foundation for non-profit organizations devoted to the financial services industry. You can learn more about Christine on her podcast, Her Success Matters.
