The conversation today is with a Chartered Financial Planner from the UK. Joshua Gerstler, FPFS, is with The Orchard Practice, where for the past 11 years he has provided comprehensive financial planning with an expertise in mortgages, protection, pensions and investments. Prior to this position, Joshua was a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte working with multi-national organizations.
Although Joshua’s background in accounting gives him a great understanding about money, taxes and balancing the books, he prefers working on the financial planning aspect for his clients and enjoys the direct impact he can have on their lives.
In our conversation, we discuss:
· Helping people understand how long their money will last.
· Serving clients with a minimum asset level.
· Clients should ask if they are on track for reaching financial goals.
· Preparing for change-anything from Covid to Brexit.
· The pros and cons of meeting clients on Zoom.
· The importance of listening to a client.
