Shopify, the Canadian tech darling is reducing their workforce and you guessed it - recruiting is hit along with customer support and sales. They are putting a big blanket around their product building teams - no surprises there.
The biggest bust of illegal workers in Canada, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts take the walk of shame, hiding behind their statement of ‘we did our due diligence’. It's unlikely they got 3 bids on that contract. Can anyone find a trace of the temp agency One Team? They vanished faster than water in the desert.
The blame game continues, employers complaining, “no one wants to work anymore”, trace that statement back to 1894!
The research confirms it, out of 1,000 hiring managers, ⅔ admit they are failing to fill their vacant positions because they are forced to only hire candidates with a degree. Some sectors like tech and healthcare are rethinking it - certifications might be as relevant as degrees for entry level jobs.
