Kansas State’s 2020 recruiting class got a big boost on Tuesday morning when Chaminade (Mo.) shooting guard Luke Kasubke announced his commitment to the Wildcats. A 6-foot-6, 185-pound, three-star prospect, Kasubke picked the Wildcats over his other two finalists in Saint Louis and Loyola-Chicago.
"I'm excited to join the K-State family," Kasubke said to 247Sports' Evan Daniels. "Coach (Chris) Lowery, coach (Bruce) Weber and the staff has been on me since the beginning of my recruitment and I always wanted to play at the high level and join the family."
The commitment comes following a championship-winning summer circuit with MOKAN Elite. The program won the Peach Jam Championship and Kasubke averaged 12.8 points on 43.5 percent shooting, while also grabbing 3.3 rebounds and dishing out 2.6 assists per game on the EYBL circuit this summer.
Kasubke becomes the second member of the 2020 recruiting class for Bruce Weber, along with Indianapolis point guard Nijel Pack, who committed to the program in June.
GoPowercat.com basketball recruiting analyst Riley Gates and Publisher Tim Fitzgerald sat down immediately following Kasubke’s commitment to K-State to give quick thoughts on what the commitment means for the future of the Wildcat basketball program.
