In episode 50 of Tigers in 20, lead writer and host Christian Fowler and GoTigers247 founder Brooks Hansen discuss the latest in Memphis Tigers basketball and football.
Fowler and Hansen begin this week's episode by discussing Memphis' 54-48 win over SMU on Saturday night. With a sellout crowd and multiple big time performances, it was a magical atmosphere.
The duo breaks down performances from Brady White, Antonio Gibson and Damonte Coxie among others. After the big victory over SMU, Memphis is now No. 19 in the Associated Press Top 25 going into their bye week.
After discussing football, Fowler and Hansen move along to Memphis' 97-64 win over South Carolina State in their season opener. Former number one overall player James Wiseman made his collegiate debut, and he had 28 points and 11 rebounds in 22 minutes.
Forward Precious Achiuwa was the only other player in double figures (14 points), but the Tigers played well as a whole. Damion Baugh and Alex Lomax had eight points apiece, and the duo discusses how much potential the Tigers have.
DJ Jeffries, Lester Quinones and Boogie Ellis didn't shoot much throughout the game, so Fowler and Hansen break down what Memphis could look like when they are firing on all cylinders.
