This poem for Music Monday is entitled "Big Bid'ness" and it deals with the prison industrial complex. Thinking about the people in our prisons contracting COVID and not receiving the proper treatment and support is what led me to share this poem. It was originally published in my book "From the Limbs of my Poetree" and also on my second CD entitled "Signs of the Time." Both are available on Amazon and the poem is available on iTunes and other music platforms. Sometimes I share my art here instead of commentary because I like to show how we can use spoken word poetry and hip-hop to speaker about social justice and the importance of being an UPstander and not a bystander.
