Greetings Upstanders! I hope this message finds you well. This holiday season, we must continue to search for reasons to be grateful and thankful. Some of us may have to search harder than others, given what we have experienced this year. Some of us are not allowed to see family members physically because of COVID restrictions and some of us like myself, who lost family members this year due to a myriad of reasons including COVID. Maybe there has been a job loss or you’re struggling with virtual learning. All of us are probably being tested in one way.
One thing I learned from Dr. Willie Jolley is that there is a difference between life and school. In school you get the lesson and then you get the test. In life you get test and then you get the lesson! We are being tested now and we will pass this test. There are many lessons yet to be learned from this period of time we’re living in. We will win if we do not give in. Today count all of the things, opportunities, and most importantly, the people you have the honor of having in your life. Also remember that there could always be someone or some family in need right now so if you can, consider giving to an organization to help feed or clothe a family or anything else. Now more than ever, we need to spread love and pay it forward. Happy holidays to you!
