This week: Lessons Learned From This School Year
Recognizing the new level of independence in our kids. Letting out kids prove themselves to be capable and independent is a milestone for us all.
Don’t question your motherly instincts. Trust your gut and that you know what is best for you and for your kids.
High School is better than middle school! If you have a kid struggling to get though middle school, keep this in mind.
Friendships, activities, and connections are essential for our kids’ mental health. Push them to be involved and you will see they are happier and better off. Busy kids stay out of trouble.
Remember to be your own best friend! Treat yourself the way you would your best friend.
Mental Health Days? Yes! We all need them; don’t be afraid to use them.
Don’t be afraid to fight for your kids and what they need in school. Don’t push it off to someone on the PTA. Use your voice as a parent.
Our kids get so much more out of their education when they have teachers who make the effort to connect with them.
When kids are allowed to rise to the occasion and deal with an issue, it will build strength and character.
Volunteer options dwindle the older your kids get. If volunteering is important to you, do it when you can. The older your kids get, the more difficult it is for schools to get volunteers.
To balance the hectic schedule of school, kids need downtime and mindfulness and calm.
