Have you ever stopped to think about all the things you say to yourself throughout the day?

We are oftentimes very critical of ourselves, without really realizing it. What can we do to change the conversation?

Do you have ANTs?! Automatic Negative Thoughts and why they are important to get out of your brain?

Neural pathways are created when we have the same thoughts over and over. Bad thoughts will repeat themselves. The good news is that good thoughts can repeat themselves, too.

Some of the most common negative thoughts in adults. They are often the same in our children.

Becoming aware of these thoughts is the first step to overcoming them.

The four main categories of cognitive distortions: personalizing, filtering, catastrophizing, and polarizing. What do they all mean, and what impact do they have?

How do we avoid these distortions? Combatting negative thinking starts with awareness. Question yourself when you say negative things. Is what you are saying accurate? Do you have facts to support them? What you say if you were talking to a friend? What would a friend or your spouse say to you?

Sometimes the things you are most critical of are the traits others love about you.
