This week: Positive Thinking Muscle
Sometimes we find ourselves sinking into a negative place. How do we pull ourselves out?
We can create self-imposed pressure to be positive and happy all the time, which can cause uncomfortable feelings. Use this as motivation to change.
Don’t forget self-care! Taking care of yourself will set you up for positive thinking.
Being aware of your negative thinking and habits is the first step in creating change.
Find an outlet for the negative thoughts- brain dump or “get out the yuck” by talking, journaling, praying. Whatever outlet you can find to let the thoughts go will help immensely.
Become your own friend! Treat yourself and talk to yourself the way you would to your best friend.
Building neural pathways happens the more you repeat an action or way of thinking. Positive thinking is a muscle you can build by repeating the way you think and embedding positive thinking in your neural pathways.
Flex you positive thinking muscles daily. Just like doing daily pushups, they get easier the more you do them.
Getting your negative thoughts can take some push to get out. Practice moving past your comfort zone.
