This week: A Letter To My Kids
We are all familiar with the teenage eye-roll when interacting with our kids and trying to engage them in conversation.
Have you ever considered writing a letter to your kid? The power of the written word is a very special way to let your kids know how you feel about them.
Do you know what lessons and skills you want to teach your kids?
Establishing a good relationship of communication is important. How do you do it?
Make sure your children know it is ok to make mistakes.
Leave the option open to call you if they find themselves in a dangerous situation, or if they have made a bad choice.
Help your kids think about what they are looking for in a partner, when they are ready to start dating.
What do we say when having “the talk” with our kids, to convey what we need to, without creating a situation where they are afraid to come to you if they need to talk.
Establishing unconditional love with you kids. Do they know that you love them no matter what?
Teach your kid good coping skills, and set a good example by showing how you solve problems.
Feelings are meant to be felt. Help them to know how to feel and manage their feelings.
Let your kids know to surround themselves with friends who lift them up, rather than pull them down.
Teach your kids to always be aware and safe!
Teach your children to master their thoughts and actions.
