A big week for Lincoln Riley just got bigger.
On top of being rewarded with an extension for his second-straight appearance in the College Football Playoff, second-straight Big 12 crown, second straight Heisman winner and putting the No. 1 pick in the most recent NFL Draft, he watched two of his players declare early for entry in to the 2019 Draft. But he still needed a defensive coordinator.
And now he has one.
Grinch brings with him an outstanding pedigree with experience that spans the Big Ten SEC, Big 12 and Pac-12.
Grinch inherits a defense that was one of the worst in college football. With a combination of Ruffin McNeill and Mike Stoops as defensive play-caller, the Sooner defense gave up more than 32 points per game and were embarrassed in the Orange Bowl.
