Lisa Akers kind of lives in Snohomish but also kind of lives in Concrete. She works in a school but also works in her bar and a liquor store. She's a mom to two rad kids and two adorable guard dogs, and she's married to Jeremy (that’s right, host of Nothing Set in Concrete on 90.1 fm Thursdays 6pm-8pm). Working with Lisa is a hoot, especially bartending with her and I'm so happy she sat down with me. Listen to us laugh, almost cry, then laugh some more. If you haven't been to The Hub or the Concrete Liquor Store since the Akers family reopened them, you need to go check them out. The Liquor Store also contains a Record Store and sells gifts made by local artists. The Hub has live music most weekends and karaoke every Saturday night.
Love my intro song? Check out Clay Work. He is incredibly talented. He also hosts Trivia at Lyman Tavern on Tuesdays, and at District Brewing on Wednesdays.
Send me a message through our IG account: Skagit Storytellers. If you have a question, maybe I'll answer it in my intro, or if you have a comment, maybe I'll mention that too.
