In this interview, "Denise" (not her real name) discusses her getting married to a preacher of the Gospel. Overtime, her husbands behavior toward herself and their kids became verbally abusive to the point of him controlling pretty much her and the kids entire life as to what they could and could not do. She talks about there being times that he was so angry, he would destroy some of the household items. She says that she sought counseling to try and save their marriage, however her husband was not interested. She also talks about her husband having an affair while she was seeking counseling. She finally made the hard choice to seek a divorce to protect herself and her kids.
