Today, we’re gearing up for VBS and continuing our Made for More series.
We’re diving into Acts 13, where we see the start of Paul’s first missionary journey a pivotal moment as the spotlight shifts from Peter to Paul. The Holy Spirit sets Paul and Barnabas apart for this mission, and they’re sent out from Antioch to proclaim the gospel.
In Cyprus, Paul boldly confronts a sorcerer named Elymas, which leads to the conversion of a Roman official, Sergius Paulus. From there, they travel to Pisidian Antioch, where Paul delivers a powerful message about Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s promises.
The response is mixed some Jews believe, others oppose them. So, Paul turns to the Gentiles, and many of them joyfully receive the gospel. Even though persecution follows, the mission continues to spread with power, joy, and the presence of the Holy Spirit.
