Today, we honor Memorial Day a time to remember that our freedom has come at a great cost. We are reminded of the power of sacrifice. Just as Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice to give us new life, we reflect on those who gave their lives for our nation. We also look back to the early church in the book of Acts, where believers made great sacrifices for the sake of the Gospel and for future generations including us. This day is not only about remembrance but also about humility. We humble ourselves in gratitude, honoring those who have gone before us by living lives of purpose, faith, and service.
