Description

Louwee Shibata is a former professional international figure skater who spent over a decade competing at the highest levels, cultivating resilience, discipline, and a global mindset. Having lived across the U.S., Asia, and Europe, she developed a deep understanding of diverse cultural and business landscapes, shaping her approach to leadership and impact.

A Columbia University graduate, Louwee discovered her passion for technology, investing, and the intersection of purpose and profit during her time at Columbia. Through purpose-driven roles in startups, venture capital, and business development, she has sharpened her focus on impact-driven investments and the power of capital to drive meaningful change.

Currently at a sustainability tech startup (Greenplaces), Louwee helps businesses integrate solutions that create measurable impact in sustainability. While she has worked across various industries, her long-term vision is to champion responsible investing—bridging financial growth with social good. She believes that impact and financial success are not mutually exclusive, but rather essentially linked in shaping the future.

Her journey—navigating leadership, sports, and business—has given her firsthand experience in overcoming challenges, building confidence, and staying adaptable in high-pressure environments. Passionate about empowering others to align their careers with purpose, she shares her insights to inspire future leaders committed to making an impact.
