Dr. Ivan Misner is the Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of BNI, the world’s largest business networking organization. Founded in 1985 the organization now has over 10,000 chapters in over 7070 countries. Each year, BNI passes millions of referrals resulting in billions of dollars worth of business for its members.
He has a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. He is a New York Times Bestselling author who has written 28 books including one of his latest bestselling books – Who’s in Your Room? Dr. Ivan Misner is also a columnist for Entrepreneur.com and teaches Leadership in the MBA program at Concordia University. He is also a past member of the Board of Trustees for the University of La Verne.
Dr. Ivan Misner joins us on this episode to share his experience running for student council in his high school years, and how his life changed when someone believed in him and gave him the chance to excel at what he loved. He talks about his book and a key part of it which emphasizes the importance of taking those people who are “engines” in your life – people that propel you forward because they are there for you, they care for you, and they want you to be the best version of yourself possible.
