Jordan Hanson is an atypical attorney with an atypical career path for somebody who is just 39 years old. Jordan grew up in a successful fourth-generation company where he developed a passion for what he considers the absolute best (but also the most dangerous) type of business: family business.
From working as a laborer at his family’s brick yards, to representing some of the most established family businesses in the country as an attorney, to helping run and lead his family’s brick distributorship (which he eventually helped sell to a publicly traded company out of Australia), Jordan’s had an eclectic career by 33 years old but had no interest in retiring by 34. Combining his experiences and passion, Jordan found a home in the field of Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition, where he sought out common family businesses to buy and consolidate into a larger unified company.
With the support of family members, Jordan founded YARD 1, a concrete pumping subcontractor that is just two years old but already comprised of six companies servicing Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin
In this episode, Philip and Jordan Hanson discuss:
