Description

Bullying is common in nursing. This behavior is unacceptable and must be dealt with appropriately. New nurses are scared to ask questions at times because they fear to be bullied. This is a disruptive behavior which can result in the safety of the patient, costly to the organizations, decreased job satisfaction, and increase the number of new nurses quitting the profession. According to The American Nurses Association's, " Bullying is the repeated, unwanted harmful actions with the intent to humiliate, defend, and to cause distress in the recipient." There are the overt and covert types of bullying.
