Segment 1

“One man’s garbage is another man’s treasure.”

 

Jeremiah introduces the guest of the show, Parviziy Yukhamadkulov . Jeremiah talks his history with Parviziy through a vacant coffee shop. Parviziy talks about how he came in possession of the vacant coffee shop and how it was first starting up the business. Jeremiah talks the story of starting up his own business before the conversation steers towards the impact of the pandemic on small brick-and-mortars. 

 

Segment 2

Parviziy lists the other locations of his business. They go back and forth about the impact the pandemic has had on small businesses, sharing stories and trading opinions on policies (or a lack thereof) in place that led to the rise and downfall of some local shops.

 

Segment 3

Parviziy gives an timeline of his entrepreneurial journey from his start at seventeen to where he is now. Jeremiah shares the initial grind it took to start and maintain several businesses of his own, letting go of a few along the way and finding his footing with his current restaurant. They talk about the nature of coffee shops in New York City and how the hold of franchises are weakening. They also discuss the relationships businesses have with their landlords.

 

Segment 4

The two talk about the real estate situation with small businesses as well as trade questions about the pandemic and how it will affect the future. Parviziy drops the locations of Poetica Coffee and shares some contact information for listeners.
