This week we'll hear from the irreplicable Bobby Seeger, Jr on the inner workings of a custom motorcycle shop, and how to keep your brand alive in the face of tragedy and death.
Segment 1
Jeremiah Fox starts off the show with a Gary V quote. “If you don’t love what you do, F*** that!” He goes on to then introduce the guest of the day, Bobby Seeger Jr. Bobby starts off by talking about his upbringing and how it shaped his outlook on life. Bobby ended up going to a gifted school in upstate New York. He discussed his family life and how he always had a love for bikes, however couldn’t afford one. Bobby eventually got a motorcycle in his 20s. He began to travel a lot.
Segment 2
Bobby comes back and talks about how he met his business partner, Larry. He explains of how the business was not initially a motorcycle business; it was a tattoo shop. Even though Bobby had a day job, he would hang out at the tattoo shop every day; meeting new people and making connections. Larry eventually asked Bobby to be his partner. Bobby discusses how he had to make some sacrifices in order to make his dreams come true; one being taking out equity in his home. He continues by discussing how the business became what it is today.
Segment 3
When Jeremiah gets back from break, and continues his conversation with Bobby Seeger Jr on his motorcycle shop called General Motor Shop. Bobby continues talking about his business partner Larry. Bobby tells crazy stories about Larry. He also talks about his college days at Duke. Bobby talks about Larry’s death and his son’s death and how it affected his own life.
Segment 4
Jeremiah talks about Bobby’s resilience and how he’s gone through so much in his life and yet he exudes happiness. Jeremiah and Bobby talk about their mutual love of jujitsu, and how he uses it as an outlet in his life. Bobby talks about how he engages people on social media, and how he always aims to make people laugh and that it sometimes comes off as needing attention. He talks about constantly looking on the brighter side of life and following what you really like and how to make it happen in your life. Bobby talks about his most important lesson: not waiting.
