Seth sits down with Mandie Nelson. Mandie is an LMSW in the State of MO and completed her MSW with Seth from Missouri State University in 2013. Mandie discusses what her childhood was like growing up in a strict home. She explores how her experiences in life ignited her passion to work with children. Seth explores Mandie’s experience as a social worker through the course of her life. The common theme: working with children and families. Mandie unpacks what it was like working for the Department of Social Services for 15 years. Mandie explains how she took a break from it all while working for a private probation and parole company. She recounts several experiences in which she had to make really hard decisions. From there, Mandie goes on to work for hospice and explores the support she has provided in the death and dying process. However, given her love and dedication to children, Mandie found herself at Great Circle. Mandie explores her new role as a Therapist with Great Circle Academy in Lebanon, MO.
