Expect to learn a lot from this vibrant, compassionate, and brilliant young man. As someone who is making a concerted effort to reduce their meat intake and support humane companies (from make-up to food and everything in between), I cannot wait to hear all about "HumaneWashing" and get into the nitty-gritty of this subject!

This week, we welcome attorney and animal advocate Jesse Langel of the Langel Firm, who is suing four gigantic companies in the Manhattan Supreme Court for false advertising. These companies will now have to defend their usage of the term "humanely raised".

His story was recently featured in the NY Post and we can't wait to delve into everything that has led up to these actions.

As consumers, more and more, we want to understand who and what we are supporting with our purchases. It is essential to our minds and our conscience to believe that we are making good and humane choices. Truth and honesty are the pinnacles of this concept and if we are in fact misled, it must be remedied.

Segment 1

Tommy and Val begin the show by sharing a message related to the bar between human beings and other species and both think that they are ‘incredibly important’ as well as the caring of the animals of our planet that’s why they created Professional and Animal Lovers. Tommy introduces their new guest Jesse Langel, who is a well-known attorney and prominent activist for the protection of consumers against misleading advertising. He emphasizes that Professional and Animal Lovers love other animal lovers and defends the animals support like rescues etc. Tommy mentions that we should read the Book of ‘why we love dogs, eat pigs and wear cows’ since this helps to understand what is going on. Before the break, Tommy evidenced that in some parts of the globe, some people kill dogs to eat.

Segment 2

After the break, Jesse mentions that he wants to be independent and defend consumers and welfare animals. Jesse thinks that science sometimes can be found as a big fraud for consumers. Tommy talks that it is necessary to educate people and be aware of the ecological aspect of the impact of the meat industry.

Segment 3

‘People don’t have a guarantee on animals’ conditions’ Jesse mentions. Here, the main topic is HumaneWashing: ‘Meat Industry don’t say the truth’; ‘Be a corporation, get lots of money from the State’. He defines HumaneWashing as an advertising designed to impress our minds and mentions that represents the opposite of what is true. There is something that all of them agree on and it is that most of the Animal production comes from factory farms. Valerie adds that we are told that animals are cage-free, but in fact they are, to get more room. To finish this part, Jesse shows the evidence that consumers are not well informed about the fact that in America there is no guarantee whatsoever related to welfare animals conditions.

Segment 4

In this last segment of the episode, Jesse mentions that the wrong use of the concept of HumaneWashingis deeply studied at a legal level. He defends the protection of consumers against misleading advertising and the avarice of getting money in the livestock industry. Valerie affirms that it is important that people don’t be afraid of reporting any kind of false information related to their experiences about this topic.
