Nehemiah is a called man of God. He has been set apart by God. He has been given responsibility by God. Nehemiah prepares to do what God has called him to do. Nehemiah is unafraid to put forth effort to accomplish what God has called him to do. Even though the enemy continues to attack, the work of God is not hindered. In Nehemiah 6, the wall is nearly finished, and the enemy is looking for a way to hinder the work of God by tarnishing Nehemiah’s testimony. Throughout the chapter, we see the enemy invite, accuse, and deceive Nehemiah to try to get him to bow to the enemy’s way instead of moving forward with the work of God. In the same way, the enemy will try to ruin our testimony with the same temptations no matter how far along we are in our journey. Listen to this sermon about influence and temptation in the sixth part of our Rebuild series walking through the book of Nehemiah.
