As Christians, we have a mission, we have been given a message, and we have been given power to carry that message. In Luke 24, after the resurrection, we see Jesus meeting the disciples on their level. He recognized their emotion and response. We see the empathy of our Savior. He is patient with fear and doubts. He also gave them a mission though. Jesus is telling them to stay in the city until they have been clothed with power. Are you willing to wait until you are clothed with power? God has still power for us today. It’s the same power and it’s given in the same way. The pathway to power is intimacy with the Father. We will grow in our intimacy with Him the more we push the world away and the more we focus on Him. It changes everything. We need a fresh obsession with Jesus. Are we willing to wait on Him?
