Karen Morris Herkes is the author of 5 science fiction and fantasy novels. All her stories feature broken heroes who achieve victory through cooperation and mutual support, and some of them are kissing books. Writing as K. M. Herkes, she published a techno-adventure series called The Stories of The Restoration, then branched into urban fantasy with the Rough Passages series. Rough Passages is set in a world where some people develop mysterious powers as they hit middle age, while other people have the dangerous job of keeping the world safe from the first group. The first full Rough Passages novel, The Sharp Edge of Yesterday, is about working moms with superpowers and idealistic teens battling bureaucracy and bigots, and it's releasing in March 2021.
