Description

It is set to launch in the United States on November 12, 2019. It will be focused on film and television content from Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Television.

To put that into perspective, Roku generated about $417 million in revenue last year, so this could mean an increase of nearly 33%. That could be even higher by 2024, potentially producing as much as $187 million in additional revenue. In all, the Disney+ launch could add as much as $1 billion to Roku's valuation.

Right now, Disney has only released details about US pricing, where the streaming service will cost $6.99 a month.

Disney makes serious money (an estimated $300 million) putting its films and properties on Netflix and other services, but if Disney+ is attractive enough to pull in millions of paying subscribers, then it could yield potentially much more income. And it gives Disney a new, exclusive platform for developing new content, whether it's with existing brands or original properties.
