The pandemic has had an interesting effect on many SMBs, and some particular industries as well.One area of business that has been thrown for a loop is the world of Residential & Commercial Real Estate.

From businesses cutting their office space, people from urban areas moving to the suburbs in droves, waiving inspections and appraisals, while contracting for purchases prices 10-20% over asking, there is no shortage of craziness surrounding the Real Estate space.

We are joined by Matt Ross, Founder & Principal at Ross Advisory & Consultants, LLC; Co-Founder at ValueXpose, Inc. He is an experienced executive with a demonstrated history of working in the Commercial Real Estate world, and excels in Due Diligence, Investments, Financial Analysis, and Litigation.  

Matt has consulted on over $10 billion in valuation and CRE related transactions over the past two decades and is actively involved in the PropTech/ValTech and FinTech industries (Enriched Data/ValueXpose, developing state of the art technology and analytical methods relating to the fields of real estate and finance).

Segment 1

The show starts with an introduction to the show and introduction of the guest. Today's guest is Matt Ross, Founder and principal at Ross Advisory and Consultants, LLC. Matt Ross is an experienced executive with a demonstrated history of working in the commercial Real Estate world. Steven then tells the audience about some of Matt's accomplishments and segways into the show. Steven then asks Matt to give a history of his career and how he got started.

Segment 2

The second segment starts with a reference to a book called ‘Getting things done’. Steven then uses this book and a quote from it to segway into the next question for Matt Ross. The next topic for Matt during this segment is to go into his personal process for what he does on a day to day basis. Matt explains that COVID has changed how he does what he does on a day to day basis, but says to keep your mind on the goal in order to sustain yourself through current times. Matt explains pandemic or not, Real estate is one of the most stressful careers one can possibly do. Matt then goes into very specific detail on how exactly the pandemic has impacted the market and his personal business. Matt explains that forward thinking is how we get back to normal or atleast a version of normal. The old way of doing things may be out and Matt explains that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Segment 3

The third segment starts with Steven asking Matt about what he's seeing in the industry today. Matt explains that there is a shift to people moving to smaller cities. People are looking to relocate where online business can be done easier and more comfortable. Matt then explains that areas where a lot of activity were rare, are not not so rare anymore. Involved in this is people moving to places like Montana. Matt explains his biggest question right now is how industrial real estate could still be viable. This leads the conversation to telling the audience that this is the time, more than ever, to get into real estate.

Segment 4

The final segment starts with Steven greeting the audience back to the show. Steven then asks Matt what the audience can take away to make a Monday impact. Matt Ross explains that teamwork and having a strong foundation takes you anywhere you want to go. To build on that, Matt explains that reading and staying up with current events, especially those regarding the industry is the smartest thing you can do.
