This Sunday, we wrap up our July series, Together, by looking at our call to pursue Justice Together. In his first recorded sermon, Jesus says he has come to proclaim the coming of God's kingdom, release for the captives, freedom for the oppressed, and good news for the poor. God's kingdom will be a reign of justice and peace. And as God's people, we are called to join in Jesus' mission!
In our work together as a congregation, as a wider church, and as individual followers of Jesus, we seek to enact God's reign, pursuing justice so that everyone may live a just and free life, with equal access to the abundance of God's creation, especially the least of these who are so often overlooked by our world's systems of exploitation and injustice.
Today's Scripture readings are Amos 5:21-24, Psalm 9:13-20, and Luke 4:14-30. The text of today's message is available at https://danielflucke.com/justice-together/.
