I asked of a priest who I was living with for a decade "If it be the blood of Christ, how come it weakens the saints and strengthens the sinners" at the time he was a little taken aback but then again we were both floating on red wine at the time. The second poem was in response a friend of mine who used a George Carlin quotation "the cynic is a diapointed idealist", I retorted by saying most idealists pontificate from the privileged position of having their freedom.
