Hi guys, Jessica here again with a new episode. This week we talk about what many parents struggle with; how to get kids to do their chores and teaching them why this is important.
Getting kids to do chores is often a source of frustration to both the parent and the kid. The parent gets tired of saying it over and over again while the kid doesn't understand the fuss around it.
In this episode, we discuss the approach we are using with Penny to get her to do her chores in a way that doesn't lead to a conflict.
We also talk about what Matt would have done differently as a newly married husband and stepdad. He shares some great insights, including why it's never worth it to get angry at a child.
So if you want to hear how we approach the topic of chores with our kids, please tune in.
Highlights of the discussion:
- Be Kind out there (02:51)
- Receiving and giving feedback (09:48)
- Communicating with Penny about chores (17:18)
- Why we teach kids to do chores (23:06)
- Losing plate privileges (29:48)
- Matt owning his part (34:14)

- Hiding Penny in the closet (43:51)
