Description

Jason Belton sits with Orange High School's own math guru Hooman Behzadpour! Hooman has been a math and computer science educator at Orange High School for nine years now and has been an adjunct instructor at NJIT for two years. He also works as an AP Reader, created videos for the newly-initiated AP Daily program, and is an AP Calculus coach for the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI). In his years at Orange High School, he has worked relentlessly to create, improve, and fortify the school’s AP Calculus program, which now has results rivaling that of any school in any zip code across the nation. Hooman is also the faculty founder of O-CAD, and an organization started in 2017 to help increase college awareness and promote a more robust college culture amongst the underclassmen at Orange High School. A defining belief of Hooman is that all students, given the chance—can and will succeed. That is, talent is universal, the opportunity is the only barrier. In his free time, he is passionate about working alongside friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to build stronger, more unified, and virtuous communities, with an emphasis on working with children and youth.
