Dutch musicians Gert-Jan Schurer and Hiske Oosterwijk from Perfect Storm are the guests of Uncle Prog this week on the Progtalks. Together they discuss the band’s much-praised debut album “No Air” that was released internationally on the 19th of March. Guitarist and songwriter Gert-Jan shares how he started writing the music for the band, and how the musicians that make up Perfect Storm came together. Vocalist Hiske explains the theme of the album and gives us some insight into how she worked with the lyrics for “No Air”. We also get to hear about Gert-Jan’s inspirations in everything from Pantera to Allan Holdsworth, Hiske’s love for Frisian, and her projects involving the language, and of course what plans Perfect Storm has for the future.
