Tonight on Girl, Goodnight, we will be reading "Sanctuary" written by Nella Larsen.
Sanctuary, is a short story written after Larsen’s second novel in 1930. She was accused of plagiarizing the story using work from a British writer name Sheila Kaye-Smith but eventually won the case. The story introduces us to a woman named Annie Poole who receives an unexpected visitor seeking a rather large favor. Her son’s relationship with the stranger allowed her to grant the favor against her own wishes.
