Interview with Deborah Payne
Pompey Mag is a new community magazine for the people who live and work in the Portsmouth area. The magazine will be delivered to 20,000 homes across North End, Copnor, Baffins and Hilsea. The inspiration behind Pompey Mag is to help to bring commerce and the community together, to promote the message to shop locally and support local businesses, to show people how they can get actively involved in their area, and to celebrate the lives and achievements of the people who live and work here.
Without the support of local business, the magazine would simply not exist. We therefore are seeking to create a mutually beneficial relationship within the business community. In return for support we offer an affordable and effective way for local business people to reach out to their customers, whilst also demonstrating their alignment to community values. We wish to develop long term partnerships, and not just provide simple advertising space, for example we can run features and articles, publish news about your business, provide marketing support and advice, and in particular, provide extra help to business startups.
The magazine is however, more than just an 'ad mag'. For us 'content is king'. We are working hard to ensure that the magazine is interesting, entertaining and relevant to our audience. Without a committed following of loyal readers, we would not be able to offer the return on investment that our advertisers deserve.
