Karli June is a Canadian Country Music singer/songwriter who recently released her debut EP "Where You Come From". Karli joins Country Music Made Me to talk about her rural upbringing, how important her family has been within her journey, and the church and school performances that made her fall in love with performing. Karli and Brendan talk about her time studying music at Wilfrid Laurier University, what is was like learning the business of music, and how she managed to get a foothold within the music industry after graduation. Karli explains what it's like writing with established songwriters like Scott Chesak, Derek Ruttan, and Karen Kosowski, the time she took during 2020 to find her true sound, and working with Kosowski in producing her debut EP "Where You Come From".
