Tiffany Dufu, Founder and CEO of The Cru, shared the story behind her title with us on Saturday, May 8th and Sunday, May 9th, 2021.
Tiffany is a catalyst-at-large in the world of women’s leadership and the author of Drop the Ball, a memoir and manifesto that shows women how to cultivate the single skill they really need in order to thrive: the ability to let go. According to foreword contributor Gloria Steinem, Drop the Ball is “important, path-breaking, intimate and brave.”
Tiffany serves on the board of Girls Who Code and Simmons College. She is a member of Women's Forum New York, Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc. and is a Lifetime Girl Scouts. She lives in New York City with her husband and two children.
"Tiffany was born to very young parents who were not prepared to raise a child. When she reflects on her beginning, she is reminded that while her mother struggled with poverty and addiction, she also spoke to Tiffany in a way that led her to believe in herself, and ultimately aim higher. With the help of her father, she went off to college and discovered her true calling; to help elevate young girls and women become independent for the greater good."
