At Public Access America we would like to ride along current issues. We want to address some of the footnote phrases you hear. Instead of a Google Wikipedia search you can listen and learn with us and understand from a longer timeline. If black lives matter, then come and find out why. If grandpa fought in a war. Listen to some of the past and connect. Or listen with and spark something new. We defiantly don’t want to tell you what to think, or learn. Here our opinions means nothing. Information beyond all is the goal. To better humanity with a shared knowledge is paramount to a peaceful civilization. If I know your struggle and you can see that I’ve struggled too we can begin to empathize on a human level, leaving politics and agendas aside we can build community with out fear of our neighbor.

Maria Alexandrovna is a Russian and American journalist, author, translator and activist who has been an outspoken critic of the President of Russia, VladimirPutin and the President of the U.S.A., Donald Trump.
Gessen has written extensively on LGBT rights. Described as "Russia's leading LGBT rights activist," she has said that for many years she was "probably the only publicly out gay person in the whole country."
Gessen writes primarily in English but also in her native Russian. In addition to being the author of several non-fiction books, she has been a prolific contributor to such publications as The New York Times, The New York Review of Books, The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, The New Republic, New Statesman, Granta, Slate, Vanity Fair, Harper's Magazine, The New Yorker, and U.S. News & World Report.
