HSM Intern, Liv Doyle, teaches on Ephesians 6:10-20 on Sunday, December 4th.

Advent is the season where we hold in tension looking back and look forward. Advent literally means “arrival”, usually the arrival of royalty. We look back and remember that God, our King, took on human flesh in order to live with and die for us. He arrived humbly, as a vulnerable infant. In a similar way to the Jews anticipating the arrival of the Messiah two thousand years ago, we as Christians anticipate a second advent of Jesus. Jesus IS coming back. And He WILL finish what He started; He WILL make all things new. As we wait for Him to return, we long for the things that He will fix ADVENT-UALLY.
