Description

Today is the 1st day of Kwanzaa, Umoja, meaning unity- in the family, community, nation and race. Happy Kwanzaa.

We are one. We rise or fall together.

I choose rising. Today is my mentor Runyararo Fana birthday. I may have tears in my eyes because I cannot hug him, but I will and do honor him.

More than any person on the planet, he taught me the importance of unity, supporting one another, lifting one another, encouraging one another, working together as he would say to create Wakanda.

Almost every Saturday, he taught a class- a free class- on community, principles, love. It was called Conversations in African Culture, but it was Umoja in action.

He started with meditation, libations, then music. He brought and read from books. He talked about contemporaries and ancestors. Every class was focused on one or more principles.

I'd never been taught like that.

He did not call it Zennurgy, but Zennurgy incorporates all those things plus affirmations, vision boards, journaling, and breathing. https://www.amazon.com/Zennurgize-Your-Life-Zen-Ase/dp/B09MYXXCD2

He taught me. I continue his legacy.

Today, I release Benediction on my podcast. It's an episode dedicated to those we lost to Covid and during Covid.

I hope it helps unite us in reverence, in hope, in love. Https://linktr.ee/zenase

As Runyararo Fana would say Pamoja Tutashinda- Together we shall win.
