Chronic absenteeism has deep and lasting effects on students and school communities as a whole.
The purpose of this podcast is to increase awareness of the subject and offers some new information regarding school/district responsibility (as of 2015 there are new accountability factors per the Every Child Succeeds Act - ESSA) This podcast also seeks to promote critical thinking about how to improve outcomes for better attendance.
The Podcast poses the greater question :
What do schools need to change in order to attract students to school and keep them in school?
