Listen in as we dive into this old hymn that, despite its old-fashioned language, is wonderfully joyful even today in 2021. We can rejoice that Jesus loves us... even the sinfulest. (Is that a word?)
The text was written by the German pastor, Erdmann Neumeister. Neumeister was preparing a sermon on The Parable of the Lost Sheep and was inspired to write the poem. Not only did he prepare his sermon that week... he also wrote a hymn to go with it! It must have been a busy week for him.
